You will have responsibility in terms of the Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) of the countries and business units assigned (e.g. Development, Commercial units, Manufacturing, Global Functions). You will implement the Novartis Transfer Pricing strategy and provide pro-active, expert guidance to the business to support Novartis’ long-term growth.
You will drive the end-to-end process in collaboration with our stakeholders including but not limited to Supply Chain, Business Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting & Accounting, Tax and Treasury to ensure business set ups adhere to the Novartis Transfer Pricing strategy and financial performance is optimized in line with global and local regulations.

About the Role

This Director Grade/Level role is known internally at Novartis as Senior Manager Global Funds Flow and reports to the Head Global Funds Flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives the end-to-end Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) process including interactions between the relevant stakeholders
  • Manages and oversees the profitability and the need of measures in alignment with the Novartis Transfer Pricing strategy anticipating global as well local regulations (IFRS vs. country specific statutory regulations)
  • Collaborates with the local finance organisations to provide accurate forecasts, analyses variances between forecasts and actuals to recognises trends, opportunities and challenges, and assesses and implements accurate measures on a timely basis
  • Negotiates Transfer Prices with countries, ensures Transfer Prices anticipate product lifecycle for marketed brands by country
  • Directs the implementation of business set ups from a Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) point of view on a global basis
  • Leads and coordinates strategic projects in close alignment with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Tax, Treasury, local CFOs of key countries)
  • Supports the development of Transfer Pricing  processes by driving automation and digitalisation, supports initiatives for process improvements and the implementation of changes
  • Provides support to business partners in general and especially for business evaluations such as M&A/BD&L transactions from a OTP point of view
  • Ensures risk management and strives for an appropriate control environment ensuring financial compliance

What you'll bring to the role:

Essential Criteria:

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration or Finance
  • Strong experience in Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) topics within a large multinational corporation and/or within a Big 4, with knowledge in transfer pricing methods and overall tax regulations.
  • Proven capabilities in Financial & Data Analysis - Technically Savvy
  • Strong experienced in Finance (Accounting / Controlling / Business Planning & Analysis)
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus

  • Customs and/or Treasury experience
